A world class player, Xabi has been a true footballer being a second generation player. Alonso became a cult player as he lifted the famous UEFA Champions League trophy with Liverpool in the 2004 season againt Milan in Instanbul. An expert in turning around games, Alonso is both a burst player and a calm footballer. Due to some differences he left Liverpool and joined Real Madrid where he holds a prime playing position in the midfield. Alonso is still cheered at Liverpool. He was with the Spanish squad which won Euro 2008, 2012 and the World Cup.
