His plane named ""The Spirit of St. Louis"" took off from, Roosevelt Field near New York City and set for Atlantic Ocean towards Ireland. It took about 34 hours when he finally landed to become the first person to cross Atlantic Ocean in a single flight.
The first woman to cross the Atlantic Ocean was Ameila Earheart, a very popular character also seen in ""Night at the Museum: Part II"" movie. She made this marvellous feat in 1932.
